It's been a while since I've written one of
these...but over the weekend I had a conversation that has me in an introspective mood. It made me think of this word:
stopgap. The definition is ~ an improvised substitute; a temporary way of dealing with a problem or satisfying a need.
Sometimes life throws us circumstances that are out of our control but what we do have control over is how we will respond or cope. We can create an environment and attitude that will allow things to remain positive and not allow something to stop us completely in our tracks - because that's what we just have to do in certain situations. The body & mind are such interesting things....it can take on a pretty high amount of stress and emotion. And it has it's way of releasing it at more opportune times...or sometimes inopportune (i.e. when you're in a crowd of people and just want to hide!). Nevertheless, the body has a way of letting us know it's just getting over something. It's such a comfort to have those close to us who will help you pull through those moments!
And these goodies don't hurt either...
...sometimes they are my stopgap. :)
